MARLIN announces that Betsy Jeffers, PE, joins the firm as Vice President. In this role, Betsy will provide project management expertise on transportation infrastructure projects for clients such as the Florida Department of Transportation and various local, state, and federal agencies. 

Betsy comes to MARLIN with more than 28 years of civil engineering experience in Florida. She is well versed in FDOT design criteria and standards, as well as AASHTO guidelines, specifications, typical section, variance and exception development and review, and quality control in the daily plans production environment.

She recently completed a 26 year tenure with the FDOT District 4 Design Office where she spent 12 years as an In-house Design Section Leader and served as the Design Project Manager and Engineer of Record for a variety of projects with construction budgets ranging from $300,000 to upwards of $65 million. Betsy also served as the Program Manager for the Broward Mobility Initiative which became the Complete Streets Program, working together with the Broward MPO and other Broward County municipalities including the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Coconut Creek, as well as others, to program over $300 million in bicycle and pedestrian projects. Successfully completed projects for which she was the Project Manager include Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets, Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, and I-95 at Lantana Road Interchange.

A registered Professional Engineer in Florida, Betsy received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University.
