We are very proud to announce that MARLIN, on behalf of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization, successfully prepared 10 Safe Routes to School (SRTS) applications, getting more projects approved than any other county in the state! A total of 37 SRTS projects were approved statewide by FDOT for the 2015 application cycle. These projects directly support increased safety for students in grades K-8 who walk and bicycle to school. The SRTS projects provide new infrastructure such as sidewalks, signals, signs and crosswalks that provide better walking and biking access to schools, parks, and community centers. Thumbs up to our project manager, Jennifer Fierman, who completed this project with excellent support from the Transportation Planning group, including Djemcy Limage, Harold Pantaleon, Abel Martinez, and Kris Devastey. Together, everyone worked diligently to develop 10 successful SRTS applications on an expedited schedule. Keep up the good work!
